How to Use Polymarket: Complete Beginner's Guide

What you need: An email address, a valid photo ID (passport or national ID card), and a way to buy USDC — either a debit/credit card or an existing crypto exchange account.

Step 1: Create your account

Go to polygram.ink. Enter your email address. You'll receive a 6-digit OTP code — enter it to verify. Your account is immediately active. You can also sign in via Telegram if you use the PolyGram Telegram mini-app.

Step 2: Complete KYC verification

Polymarket requires identity verification for all users since 2023. Click "Verify Identity" and complete the process:

  1. Select your document type (passport or national ID card — driving licence not accepted)
  2. Photograph the front and back
  3. Take a selfie (liveness check)
  4. Wait for approval — usually 5–15 minutes, occasionally up to 24 hours

⚠️ Use only genuine documents and your real identity. False submissions result in permanent account closure and loss of funds.

Step 3: Deposit USDC

Polymarket and PolyGram use USDC (USD Coin) on the Polygon network. There are two main approaches:

Option A: Card payment via MoonPay (simplest)

  1. Click "Deposit" → "Buy with card"
  2. Enter your desired amount
  3. Enter your card details
  4. USDC arrives in your account within 5–10 minutes

Fees: Approximately 3.5–5% on the card amount. Best for smaller deposits.

Option B: Transfer from exchange (most cost-efficient)

  1. Buy USDC on Coinbase, Kraken, or Binance
  2. Initiate a withdrawal: select USDC, select Polygon network (not Ethereum — fees are much higher)
  3. Paste your PolyGram wallet address as the destination
  4. Confirm — arrives in 2–5 minutes

Fees: Typically $1–3 flat per transfer. Much cheaper than card for amounts over $100.

Step 4: Choose a market

Browse categories: Politics, Crypto, Sports, Business, Entertainment. Use the search to find specific events. Click any market to see the live order book with YES/NO prices and trading volume.

Step 5: Place your first trade

  1. Select YES or NO based on your prediction
  2. Enter your USDC amount
  3. Choose Market Order (immediate, at current price) or Limit Order (only executes at your target price)
  4. Confirm the order
  5. Your position appears immediately in your portfolio

Step 6: Manage your position

Open your portfolio dashboard to see all open positions, their current market value, and unrealised profit/loss. Click any position to sell at any time — you don't need to wait for market resolution.

Withdrawing your profits

Click "Withdraw", enter your Polygon wallet address, confirm. Funds arrive in 1–5 minutes. No minimum withdrawal amount, no PolyGram fees — you only pay Polygon gas costs (typically under $0.01).
